Breakfast in bed

I haven’t been to any out-of-the-country vacation and experience hotel accommodation. I’m not much of a traveler cause I get car sick so easily but it would be wonderful to see other places. France is such a romantic place –to see Paris, Venice, Italy, Nice or London would be nice. These are the places I only see in the movies.

And to live in a nice hotel, wow, that must be something. I would love to stay in a hotel with a magnificent view of nature by the window and with a bath tub so I can spend hours in a bubble bath. Breakfast in bed would be nice!!! Fresh bread and French croissant, bacon and eggs, fresh fruits all sliced beautifully in a tray. Freshly squeezed orange juice and a hot cup of strong coffee.

It’s cool to think how you can request for a hotel reservation from the internet today. Just browse through hotels online, pick your choice, and start placing your reservations. My, how easy it is to travel these days when you have the money! Well, sweet dreams are made up of these.

What is GPS?

What is GPS? It stands for Global Positioning System, which is used to determine location, speed, and direction through a Global Navigation Satellite transmitter. The system was created for military operations but in 1980 the government has allowed civilians to use GPS. GPS has been very useful in carrying out disaster relief operations and for other emergency purposes. Today, however, the advantages of GPS system in enhancing a business’s potential are undeniable. GPS is used in vehicles to help people get to their destination more easily and conveniently.

How does it work? GPS work with the help of satellites that circle the earth and transmit information to GPS receivers. This information is used to calculate a location of a particular GPS object. By measuring the movements of an object such as its latitude, longitude and altitude, other details can also be calculated like the speed, distance, time, bearing, and others.

GPS Insight is a company that provides GPS for small and large businesses especially those who provide transportation or trucking services. It is a company that has been in the industry for 3 years and it uses the Sedonatech technology in providing services to more than 7 million clients.

For business owners, GPS Insight offers a 30-day money back guarantee to enable them to try out the quality of the service they can expect from the company. If you’re interested in availing their service, visit the site and try out their product demonstration for free.

How much does it cost to get GPS system? It will cost around $1.50-2 only per day for each vehicle. It includes a detailed mapping of locations, 90 days of history, speed and location updates every 2 minutes, vehicle maintenance schedule, route optimization and navigation, landmarks and Geofence of the area, engine diagnostics, 24/7 roadside assistance, theft recovery assistance and a comprehensive report of the vehicle’s activities. Reports include fuel consumption, speed violations, and details of the vehicle’s overall performance.

GPS Insight is in partner with AT&T/T-Mobile and reliable satellite system to give its customers an accurate update of the vehicle’s location every 2 minutes. This system is used all throughout Canada and the US.

Daydreams

Everybody dreams of a home and this is one of the main things in my dream’s list right now. Or maybe it’s better to say my list of goals to work on. First of all, buying a house is still out of the question. So renting it would be.

I’m really excited about looking for a new rental home. I can’t wait to have my own kitchen. Two of my most favorite areas of the house are the kitchen and the bathroom. I dream of bath tub but if there’s none, I just want my bathroom and kitchen to be really beautiful and clean.

Shopping for home furnishings is so exciting. And when I have the time, I browse through home furnishing shops online. I can’t wait to design my own house and create something cozy and beautiful even on a budget.

I checked out Farrey’s for a selection of unique lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. They have craftmade ceiling fans, modern ceiling fans, casablanca fans and some of them costs less than a hundred dollars. Here is my favorite one from their Natural Style collection. I personally think this will look perfect for the dining room.

Travel Guide for Pet Owners

If you have a dog or pet and you’re going on a trip, one of your concerns would be will you take your pet with you or just leave him with a sitter? To be sure, consult your veterinary if your pet is suited for traveling. This is especially if you’re going on an air trip. For instance, some dog breeds are not suitable for traveling in cargo flight.

Unless you plan to relocate, it is recommended to leave your pet at home in the care of a friend or a pet sitter. If you have a friend who is also a pet lover and who is willing to care for your dog while you’re away, then that solves your problem. However, there are pet sitter services that you can hire as well. Just make sure that you’ll be hiring a pet sitter who has experience and genuine concern for pets. If you do decide to take your pet with you, here is a travel guide for you:

1. Schedule a pre-trip health check up. General check-up and vaccination is very important since a health certificate from a certified vet is required to obtain legal travel pass for your pet. In some cases, a tranquilizer or a sedative may be prescribed. Never attempt to give your pet any medication without a vet’s prescription.

2. Prepare your pet’s travel documents. Make sure that you are aware of the laws and regulations of the State or country you’re traveling to. Some countries require a quarantine certification aside from the health certificate issued by your vet.

3. Choose the right travel carrier. Make sure that there is enough ventilation and that your pet will be comfortable in his travel carrier. If you’re traveling by plane, there should be food and water included in the carrier.

4. Prepare your pet before the trip. Let your dog or cat get used to his travel carrier weeks before your trip. You can do this by putting his food bowl inside the carrier and letting him stay inside for a few minutes, increasing the time of confinement with each day.

5. Give your pet an ID tag. The ID tag should contain your home address and your contact numbers. Make sure that the tag is securely placed so it will not be detached from your pet.

6. Don’t overfeed. On the day of your travel, feed your dog or your pet with a light meal. Just let your pet sip small amounts of water to quench his thirst to prevent an upset stomach that c can be caused by traveling.

7. Carry a photo of your pet with you at all times. It will be invaluable in case your pet gets lost in your destination.

8. Find a pet-friendly hotel. Make sure that you have made your reservations with a hotel that accepts guests with pets. Don’t forget that some hotels have a no-pet policy so you’ll want to verify this before making a reservation.

9. Make sure that the airline allows traveling pets. Some airlines have a no-pet policy so you’ll also want to confirm in advance if you’ll be able to take your pet with you on board or be transported as cargo. Ask for the airline’s complete rules and regulations for traveling pets so you’ll have enough preparation time.

10. Travel on a direct and same flight with your pet. To ensure your pet’s safety, it’s best to travel on a direct flight rather than one with stopovers. It is also recommended to choose the same flight as your pet to avoid possible problems.

Notting Hill - more about the place

A few weeks ago I posted a blog about Notting Hill as one of my most favorite movies. One of the things that got my attention was the place. Notting Hill is a place I wouldn’t mind exploring if given the opportunity. I did a little research about it and here goes:

Notting Hill is located in West London, England and has the reputation of being home to the rich and fashionable people. The city abounds with Victorian houses, first class restaurants and boutiques.

The development of Notting Hill began early in the 19th century. The Ladbroke family was known to be the first major landowners of the place, thus many of the streets of Notting Hill are bears the Ladbroke name (Ladbroke Grove, Ladbroke Square). However, it was not until the 20th century when the reputation of Notting Hill evolved and some parts of the place became one of the most desirable living areas in London.

The most popular spots in Notting Hill today are the Ladbroke Grove, one of Notting Hill’s major roads; the Westbourne Grove where retailers and shoppers meet; the North Kensington neighborhood where the movie Notting Hill was mostly shot; the Notting Hill Gate; and the Portobello Road where the famous Portobello Road Market is located.

It is interesting to learn that North Kensington is considered to be both vigorous and dangerous type of neighborhood. This is where immigrants from different countries rent and stay in search of jobs in London. Certainly looking for a job can also be a challenge for people in London just like in other parts of the world.
